Context
This piece of contemporary propaganda is a an advertisement from The Truth Initiative, an anti-vaping organization. This advertisement appeared before watching a video on YouTube. The fifteen second commercial parodies advertisements from meditation apps such as Calm asking the viewer to breathe in and out with a serene waterfall landscape playing in the background. Suddenly computer like pop-up error messages fill up the screen with messages like "low bank account" and "relationship status: 0."

    I rated this example as beneficial and so did 14% of other students. I believe it's beneficial because it's informing people about how vapes can cause stress. It's important that more people learn about how harmful vaping is to the human body. this example demonstrates to me the nature of contemporary propaganda by the commercial directly telling the viewer "vaping nicotine is said to "actually increase feelings of stress and anxiety" instead of being a stress reliever."
