Morale Would Improve If....

Pete Hegseth has been brutally trolled by the internet for his comments on 'morale' being boosted by US military flyovers, with many social media users pointing out that's the last thing that'll boost morale. Reposting a video from the College GameDay account showing a flyover from the US Airforce Bayou Militia, the Defense Secretary wrote: “The flyovers will continue until morale improves,” followed by an emoji of the American flag. Hegseth’s post comes after he vowed in July that Americans will be “seeing and feeling their military” even more after a member of the Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron buzzed a Florida beach at unexpectedly low altitude. “The flyovers will indeed continue until morale improves,” Hegseth said, sparking laughter at a Cabinet meeting at Camp David in July. “The American people seeing and feeling their military in ways they have not in the past.” Hegseth, at the time, made his pledge for more flyovers while boasting about the “spirit” of the Defense Department after he got rid of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives from the Pentagon.

While the Secretary of Defense’s comments may have garnered laughter from Camp David, people online didn’t find it quite so funny.
